Quinley ("the App") is built on a simple principle: your financial information belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information Quinley collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
When you use Quinley, your financial information — including account names, balances, transactions, categories, budgets, and goals — is stored locally on your iPhone. This information is not transmitted to or stored on Quinley's servers, except as described below for AI-powered features.
If you choose to back up your data to iCloud, that backup is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's privacy and security terms. Quinley does not have access to this backup.
When you use "Ask Quinley" or receive a Weekly or Monthly Story, a summary of relevant financial information — such as spending category totals and account balances — is sent securely to Quinley's backend service at api.quinley.app, which relays it to Anthropic PBC Claude AI to generate a response. Raw transaction details, account numbers, and credentials are never transmitted.
Anthropic does not use this data to train its AI models. The information is used only to generate the response shown to you and is not retained by Quinley or Anthropic beyond the duration of the request. No advertising identifiers or personal contact information are included.
You can disable Ask Quinley and Stories at any time in Settings → General, which stops all data transmission to Anthropic.
If you enable the weather widget, your city name or ZIP code is sent to Open-Meteo open-meteo.com, a privacy-focused open-source weather service that does not track or profile users. Your location is stored locally on your device and used only for this feature.
Market quote data is fetched from Finnhub finnhub.io using only a ticker symbol — no personal or financial information is transmitted. Financial news headlines are aggregated from public RSS feeds (NerdWallet, CNBC, Fortune, MarketWatch, Money, and Investopedia) via Quinley's own backend service. No personal or financial information is sent as part of these requests.
Like nearly all apps that connect to the internet, requests made by Quinley's AI and data features pass through standard web infrastructure (including Cloudflare), which may process technical information such as IP address for routing and security purposes. This information is not linked to your financial data or used for tracking.
Quinley does not require an account or login, and does not collect your name, email address, or other personal identifying information unless you choose to provide it (for example, in app settings).
Quinley does not use third-party advertising networks, tracking pixels, or analytics SDKs that profile your behavior across apps or websites.
Quinley is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
